emily's bridal

emily's bridal portraits were too much fun! she has this outgoing personality that kept us laughing so hard I could barely take a picture at times :) we started out in downtown wilmington looking for rustic backgrounds and then headed out to wrightsville beach. we are so excited to photograph emily and will's wedding on sept. 29th of this year. as you can see from the pictures she is absolutely stunning!

thomas + martha

we've been counting down the days for thomas and martha's wedding since their engagement session a while back. of course it ended up being a smashing success! it was a beautiful day filled with close friends, family and tons of celebration :) here are some highlights from their big day.

one day. two ways.

completed! and finally blogged! this past thursday i headed down to a photography workshop in atlanta taught by the amazing and talented nate and susan. the seminar started out in the stylish loft of the great almasy photographers. i learned so much and came away with all these fresh new ideas and techniques.

jon + brigid

a lot of times my couples are planning a wedding from out of town so i don't get to meet them until the rehearsal dinner or on the wedding day. brigid and jon were the nicest and coolest couple!!! their wedding took place in charlotte, nc at the bartlett research facility. it was a beautiful outdoor wedding overlooking many fields, flowers and lakes. the ceremony was delayed a bit by rain but it ended up being a ethereal misty feel. so beautiful for photos!

molly's bridal

tying the knot on june 16th, 2007!


last tuesday lance and i headed out to meredith college for molly's bridal portrait. it was so hot outside but we managed to make it work by laying down on the cool grass ;) luckily she had her family there to help her out with the dress!

beca's bridal shoot

we traveled to nc for beca's bridal last week and had a blast! she is such a sweet girl and so fun to be around. her dad is a huge train buff, so as a surprise for him we went to this cool train depot in a nearby town!

50th wedding anniversary



last week i got to photograph a really sweet and intimate ceremony at the charleston air force base. walter and nancy had gotten married at a chapel in the base 50 years ago. all of their kids (5 of them!) flew out from california to be there for their wedding anniversary. it was such an honor to be asked to photograph the ceremony. the old chapel on the base had been torn down but they had the ceremony at another really pretty chapel on the base.

they had a picture taken in front of the chapel 50 years before that showed the address of the chapel. so we decided to get a similar photo 50 years later.

dawn and david were the best couple to work with! i wasn't surprised that their wedding reflected their relaxed and fun personalities! they were together 6 years before they got married and still have this amazing spark between them. here is dawn getting ready for the big day!
